The CBOT had a wild ride this week. Early in the week it was up sharply until the dollar made a mad dash higher that resulted in all the commodities selling off. A strong dollar always makes the export market struggle because of the conversion factors in swapping money.  Wednesday and Thursday the grains were down, but Friday it seems like they hit some kind of floor with some of the day trading in the positive and some of the day trading in the negative.

The wheat futures were higher on short covering and technical buying amid ideas that markets are in an oversold condition. Wheat is firmer despite the losses in corn and soybeans. Wheat acres are down due to the late harvest caused by all the untimely rains.

Crude oil and precious metals have also fluctuated some this week, but their course of onward and upward has continued coming into the holiday season.

Weather on the Grand Prairie continues to be partly cloudy with temperatures in the high 40’s and low 50’s.
