Ingredients
1 cup Riceland Gold Parboiled Long Grain Rice
8-ounce sliced smoked link sausage
1 cup frozen onion pepper blend
2 cups frozen sliced okra
1 (16-ounce) can whole tomatoes
1 (10.75-ounce) can chicken broth
2 cups water
1 teaspoon sage
1 teaspoon hot sauce
1 bay leaf
Salt and pepper to taste
Preparation
1. In large pan, saute smoked sausage, onion and pepper blend until vegetables are slightly softened.
2. Combine remaining ingredients. Bring mixture to a boil; cover, reduce heat and simmer 20 minutes.
3. Remove lid, remove bay leaf and simmer additional 5-10 minutes.
Chef's Note:
Riceland Extra Long Grain Rice is a good choice for this dish also.
