  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 lb ground italian sausage
  • 1 medium onion, diced
  • 2 celery stalks, diced
  • 1 large apple, peeled, cored, and diced
  • 2 cups cooked Riceland long-grain white rice
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried sage
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/4 cup chicken or vegetable broth
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley

Preparation

  1. In a large skillet, heat butter over medium heat. Add the sausage and cook until browned, breaking it into small pieces as it cooks.
  2. Add the onion, celery, and apple to the skillet. Cook until softened, about 5-7 minutes.
