Meet Jennifer Paxton!

Meet Jennifer Paxton, Sample House Manager for Riceland Foods!

Jennifer works at the Weiner Grain Drier and has been part of the Riceland team for eight years.

Riceland’s drier network is the first point of contact for incoming rice. Jennifer explains, “We take in the green rice from the farm. We store the grain until it is shipped out.”

Jennifer started her Riceland journey as a floater and has helped at several drier locations. She reflects on this position saying, “Riceland is a great company to work for. I have been to other Riceland locations, and they are full of great people as well.”

When Jennifer became Sample House Manager, her day-to-day responsibilities grew. During peak season, the sample house becomes extremely busy. Jennifer says that in these times, “there are always challenges. We all work well together and work hard to meet deadlines. Our goal is to get our farmers through as efficiently as possible.”

When discussing working for an agricultural cooperative, she says, “As a cooperative, we are owned by our farmer members. Working directly for them means so much to me. Our farmers are awesome. They are patient, and I have met many great people.”

“I love what I do; we have great farmer-members.”

Outside of work, Jennifer loves being outdoors. When she is not tending to her vegetable garden, she enjoys going to the river with her husband and grandchildren to fish and camp out.
